Water Lilies

While I was in Maine I read a book that Julie Mcleod recommended. Its '' Understanding Shutter Speed'' by Bryan Peterson. After reading it I used some of his techniques to produce this photo. There were hundreds of lilies on the pond and every day brought new ones in both white and pink varietys.

Now that's pretty darn cool looking! It looks like you zoomed while taking the shot? You'll have to explain how you made it look like this so we can have a lesson :)

Hey that's correct. I zoomed in while shooting f/32 at 1/4 of a second. I think the slow shutter speed while hand holding the camera along with the zoom is what helped in getting this photo. I was trying all sorts of things that day. The other thing I tried was a slow shutter speed while moving the camera so as to paint with the camera. None of these turned out as nice as this one.
